Bouncin’ Bash and More
West Fargo Park District is in need of individuals, families, youth-minimum age of 14 years old, small and large groups on March 18, 19 and 20 at the Veterans Memorial Arena to assist youth and monitor inflatable games- dress in comfortable shoes and clothing. Volunteers under 14 year old can still volunteer with a parent present.
Volunteer shifts: March 18th (Friday) 3:30-8pm (40 volunteers needed) , March 19 (Saturday)
9:30am-1pm, 12:45pm-4pm, and 3:45pm-7pm, (40 volunteers needed for each shift), March 20 (Sunday) 10:30am-2:30pm and 2pm-5pm (40 volunteers needed for each shift and includes tear down).

Easter Egg Hunt
West Fargo Park District is in need of individuals, families, older adults, youth minimum age of 14 years old, small and large groups. Volunteers are under 14 year old can still volunteer with a parent present. 35 volunteers are needed from 3:30pm-8pm to set up, assist youth with games, crafts, Easter egg hunt area, collecting tickets, handing out treat bags and cleaning up.

March TV Pledge Drive
Prairie Public is looking for individuals, families, older adults, youth- minimum age of 16 years old, small and large groups to answer phones and enter data from Prairie Public members during the live TV drive on March 14 from 6:30pm-10pm. We are in need of volunteer groups on the following days: March 5, 7, 9, 14-17. Training will be provided upon arrival. We will also provide a meal, beverages, games, a tour of the studio and prizes.

Goodwill Herberger Clothing Drive
Easter Seals Good Will is in need of individuals, older adults, small groups (2) and youth-minimum age of 6 with an adult to sit at a table and accept gently used clothing that is being donated. Donors are given discount coupons to be used while shopping at Herberger’s during the sale. All items will be sold at our Goodwill Retail Stores. Shifts will be 3 hours long starting March 9th through March 29th from 8am to 9pm at the Herberger locations in Fargo and Moorhead.
Big Brother or Big Sister Mentors
Big Brothers Big Sisters of The Village Family Service Center is in need of individuals, minimum age of 18 years old to spend time one-on-one with a youth in the Fargo-Moorhead community. In the BBBS Community-Based Program, you will spend time with your little brother/sister 2-3- times a month-on your own schedule. Mentors and Littles can go to the park, attend sporting events, play board games, or participate in other activities you both enjoy.

Celtic Festival
Fargo Park District is in need of individuals, families, older adults, youth-minimum age of 14 years old and small and large groups (2-20) to help with craft projects, greeting guests, assisting in food area and other various positions. March 12, 2016 at Hjemkomst Center at 202 1st Ave N. in Moorhead. Shift times are 9:30am-1:30pm or 1:00pm-4:30pm. You might be asked to stand on your fee for the entire shirt. If you are under the age of 18, there is a volunteer wavier that your guardian and you will need to sign. If you are over 18 you can just sign the waiver.

Service Unit Volunteers
Girl Scouts Dakota Horizon is in need of individuals and older adults to be a Fall Sale Coordinator, Cookie Sales Coordinator, Secretary, Registrar (All open positions). Usually monthly in the Fargo and West Fargo areas.

Troop Leaders, Assistant Leaders and Troop Support Volunteers
Girl Scouts Dakota Horizon is in need of older adults and small groups (2-6) to organize, lead and assist in troop activities for girls of all ages primarily K-5th in the Fargo, Moorhead, West Fargo and surrounding communities.

North Dakota Tour de Cure
American Diabetes Association is in need of individuals, small and large groups to help with the planning committee for the 2016 Tour de Cure! Several positions are needed: Fundraising & Teams, post ride party (celebration site), Red Riders, Volunteers, Team Red- Route & Logistics, Recruitment, Corporate Teams & Development (Executive Committee), Marketing and Promotion. 20 Volunteers are needed with the minimum age of 18 years old.

Assemble resource folders for families and physicians
Alzheimer’s Association is in need of individuals, families, older adults, youth- minimum age of 12 years old, small and large groups (2-6) to help assemble memory loss folders for families and physician packets for providers.

Tax Preparer
Lakes & Prairies Community Action is in need of individuals to prepare state and federal tax returns using tax software. Work cooperatively with other Lakes & Prairie volunteers and staff to assure the tax site runs smoothly and provides high quality service to customers, maintain strict confidentiality, providing as much privacy as logistically possible, follow guidelines and procedures outlined in the Volunteer Training Manual. Must be 18 years old or older. January 28, 2016 from 4:30pm-8:30pm will be the start date. Requirements: attend a tax preparation and software training session in January, be able to volunteer once a week from end of January through mid-April, be punctual and stay for the length of the time scheduled (approximately 4 hours), complete all documentation required at the tax site including attendance sheet, and give a 24 hour cancellation notice when you will be absent from a scheduled shift. Qualifications: Experience in tax preparation from filing personal tax returns to college level tax preparation curriculum, enjoy working in a diverse ethnic, social and economic environment, complete tax training and pass IRS certification test, computer proficiency, and ability to work independently.

Gift Closet Assistant
American Cancer Society (ACS) is in need of individuals, and small groups (2-6) to assist cancer patients with trying on wigs, scarves, and hats at local cancer centers. Volunteers will help patients with ordering items, answering any questions, and providing quality customer service and hospitality. Volunteers will be trained by ACS before working independently. Volunteer shifts for this position will be 2-4 hour time slots. Most shifts will fall on weekdays during working business hours, but this is flexible! Volunteers can work as little as once a month to once a week depending on availability.

Patient Care Volunteer
Hospice of the Red River Valley is in need of individuals and older adults to provide companionship for hospice patients which can include wheelchair rides, having coffee, reminisce, sit at the bedside
and/ or play board games. Volunteer schedule will be determined by patient request and volunteer availability. Volunteers are needed for daytime, evening, and weekend hours.

Senior Companion
Lutheran Social Services of North Dakota is looking for individuals who are 55+ years of age to provide one-on-one companionship and social recreation to seniors who are lonely, isolated or homebound. Receive an hourly stipend and mileage for your time and travel, plus other benefits. Hours: 15 hours/week. Schedule varies based on Volunteer’s availability. Will be serving clients in their homes.

Booth Volunteer
FirstLink is in need of individuals, families and older adults to represent FirstLink at various booths in the community. Time commitment is typically 2-4 hours per booth. Booths are typically in the evenings and on weekends; some weekday booths maybe available.

Meal Delivery Volunteers
Valley Senior Services is in need of volunteers to assist with Meals on Wheels Delivery in West Fargo. Volunteers deliver the meals to homebound elderly in our community. Meals are delivered for the noon meal Monday through Friday out of the West Fargo high-rise. It is about a one-hour time commitment each week.
